Purpose Statement The purpose of the RTBC Missions Ministry is to engage believers in opportunities that expand God's glory into all the nations by: Discipling the people of RTBC in God's biblical purpose for the nations
Developing global partnerships with cross-cultural church development and planting movements
Deploying strategic resources, human and financial, for the support of God's cause
Biblical Basis and Ministry Scope The Great Commission passage found in Matthew 28 defines both the goal and scope of World Evangelization. The goal is to Make Disciples and the scope is of all nations. In Acts 1:8 the scope is divided into four areas which are to be approached equally, rather than sequentially - Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the Ends of the Earth.
Definition of Targeted Areas of influence Jerusalem: ministry opportunities that are within the normal personal influence of the people of RTBC and other growing churches to believers and unbelievers; i.e., ministry within Small Groups, Worship Services, etc.
Judea: ministry opportunities that are within the normal personal influence of the people of RTBC or other growing evangelical churches to unbelievers; i.e., ministry to co-workers, neighbors, unchurched and seekers.
Samaria: cross-cultural ministry opportunities that are beyond the normal personal influence of the people of RTBC or other growing evangelical churches, although not geographically difficult to reach; i.e., Baltimore inner-city ministry, Winter Relief, South Dakota.
Ends of the Earth: cross-cultural ministry opportunities that are beyond the normal personal influence of the people of RTBC or other growing evangelical churches, and are more geographically difficult to reach; i.e., Ministries in Cuba, China, and Honduras.
Our Role The role of the RTBC Missions Ministry is to focus on Making a Difference in our Samaria and the Ends of the Earth.
