At Riva Trace, Young Adults are

SHARING LIFE TOGETHER - We are a community of people who desire to share life together and grow closer to God. In the early church, we find in the bible that the believers

"devoted themselves to the teaching and to the fellowship, to breaking of bread and to prayer. . . All the believers were together and had everything in common. . . Everyday they continued to meet together . . . they broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people."

God has us all on a journey. Today, you might have just graduated high school or college. Maybe you have already started a career or even a family. No matter where you are, we are all in need of a community that will challenge and encourage us while we take steps along our spiritual journey.

MAKING DISCIPLES - We are a community of young adults that desire to invest in followers of Christ. Jesus tells us in Matthew 28:19-20 to "go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." We want to see people come to know Jesus and see their lives transform as we walk, encourage, and challenge each other.

WHAT WE DO?

Worship (Monthly Worship Service) – To Worship as a Growing Community
On the 1st Saturday of each Month, Young Adults will gather at Riva for a time of praise, worship, testimonies, and a challenging message.

Community (Growth Groups & Events) – To share life together
Every Thursday Night at 6:15, Young Adults share a meal at Riva Trace. This is an opportunity to hang out and catch up on each other’s week. Around 6:50ish we travel to our host houses located in Annapolis & South County for our respective growth groups. Below is some information about our Fall Young Adult Growth Groups.

Fall Semester: October 8th - December 17th
B.Y.O.B. – Bring Your Own Brain: B.Y.O.B. is a discussion group that explores various parts of culture. Together, we will explore ideas in Literature, Media, Music, Comedy, etc. We will learn to engage in, analyze, and even enjoy these aspects of our culture using a Christian worldview. Bring your thoughts, your opinions, your tastes, and… your brain.
12 Ordinary Men – The Growth Group will read through the book “12 Ordinary Men” by John MacArthur. Contrary to popular belief, we do not have to be perfect to do God's work. Look no further than the twelve disciples whose many weaknesses are forever preserved throughout the pages of the New Testament. Jesus chose ordinary men - fisherman, tax collectors, and political zealots - and turned their weakness into strength, producing greatness from utter uselessness. The book by John MacArthur draws principles from Christ's in a careful, hands-on training of the original twelve disciples for today's modern disciple - you!
