Greeters

Purpose: To welcome all who enter our church with the love of Jesus, to answer questions, help to locate classes or other destinations.
Responsibilities: To be at your position 30 minutes before service until 15 minutes after service begins. To smile and welcome guests as they arrive to church. Introduce yourself and shake hands so that guests feel welcome. Watch for new guests and introduce them to someone they could sit with in the sanctuary.
Purpose: To be available during service at the Welcome Desk to assist people with various needs.
Responsibilities: To answer questions, assist with directions, to page a deacon or trustee if necessary.
Parking

Purpose: As a member of the Parking Team, a part of the First Impressions Ministry you represent that all important First personal contact to welcome people to Riva Trace Baptist Church. You are a critical link to the Greet and Welcome Team. You maximize the efficiency of our parking procedures. Help people locate the appropriate parking space and help direct them to the building.
Responsibilities:
- All Parking Attendants should read the advance copy of the Worship Bulletin to Parking Team Leader will email to the Parking Team to be informed of announcements and changes prior to arrival.
- Parking Attendants should arrive early to assure that all of the necessary resources are in place.
- Parking Attendants should check in at the Welcome Center and parking vest and if the weather is inclement they will also pick up their RTBC umbrellas.
- As cars arrive assist members and guest in locating parking spaces.
- As best as possible assist families (women) with a large number of children.
- During inclement weather, hold the umbrella over the women and children if they have not been previously dropped off.
- If you see unusual behavior that they feel should be reported contact an entrance Greeter who can relay the information to the First Impressions Leader or Trustee.
- 2nd Service Team should pick up the parking cones and/or signs and place them in the appropriate place.
Ushers

Purpose: To welcome people to Riva Trace Baptist Church and assist people with having a rewarding and enjoyable worship experience. Primarily, Ushers ensure the Worship Center is in good order prior to worship services, help guests locate seating, receive the morning offering, and distribute worship materials. You are a critical link to and extension of the Greeters and help ensure a sage and meaningful worship experiences for all worshipers.
Responsibilities:
- All Ushers should read the advance copy of the Worship Bulletin that will be provided by email from the Usher Team Leader to be informed of announcements and changes prior to arrival.
- The Ushers should check in with their Service Head Usher to receive their entrance or isle assignment and pick up Worship Bulletins. DON’T FORGET YOUR NAME TAG.
- The 1st service Head Usher should ensure the Worship Center is ready for their service.
- Each service Head Ushers will assign 2 ushers to conduct a housekeeping sweep after each service.
- Straighten chairs
- Put Bibles in their proper place
- Remove any trash, extra worship programs, communion cups, etc.
- Ushers assigned to entrances will welcome the people and distribute the worship materials. Remind people that food and drink (w/ exception of bottled water or infant bottles) is not allowed in the Worship Center
- Ushers working inside the Worship Center will welcome the people and ask if they can help them locate a seat.
- After the service has begun the Ushers assigned to entrances will assure that all of the outer doors are closed.
- After the service has begun the Ushers assigned in side the Worship Center will remain at the rear of the Worship Center help seat late comers.
- Care should be taken not to interrupt the service.
- It is appropriate to ask guests to wait for a moment to seat them during prayer and when house light are dark.
- Seating for late comers is best accomplished at the rear of the Worship Center.
- After the offering has been taken, the plates of money should be taken upstairs (two ushers) to the teller’s room for sorting and placing in the safe.
- During the service if a child becomes disruptive, the Head Usher should graciously inform the parents or guardians that we have a nursing room, nursery or children’s classes where the children might be more comfortable. If they decline the Usher should contact the First Impressions Leader or Deacon for further instructions.
- If any Usher sees behavior that seems unusual or threatening he/she should contact the First Impressions Leader, Trustee or Deacon for further instructions.
- At the close of service a Worship Center Usher Should open both sets of doors for the congregation to exit.
- Dress for the Usher Team should be clean and neat.
