What is the First Impressions Ministry?
The First Impressions Ministry of Riva Trace Baptist Church exists to provide the warmest atmosphere possible for guests and members alike. It has been said, “first impressions make lasting impressions” and we know this is true. Our goal is to make every person who comes through our doors feel like a part of the family.
Before the first song is sung or the message is presented, people visiting Riva Trace have begun to make decisions about their return visit. First Impressions really matter. From the moment they pull into the parking lot, guests are evaluating their experience at Riva Trace. Within the first ten minutes they will either feel at home or out of place. That first impression will help them see Jesus or distract their view of Him.

The First Impressions Ministry has a desire for more people to join their ministry teams. Faithful, friendly, and helpful men and women, who may have either the gift of service or hospitality, enjoy these ministry teams a great deal.

First Impressions Ministry Teams
- Greeters and Welcome Center
Visiting a church can be an intimidating or confusing experience. The Greeter’s Ministry serves people coming to Riva Trace by carrying out several crucial tasks. They offer a friendly smile, give directions and generally provide a warm welcoming environment for all who come to visit and worship with us.
The Welcome Center is a critical hub on Sunday mornings. Whether guests or members need direction, information on an upcoming class, contact information, or just have a question, this team is here to answer questions and help meet their needs.
The Usher Ministry serves people in the Worship Center by creating a warm, friendly atmosphere before, during, and after our worship services. They serve people as they enter the worship service by greeting them, offering a bulletin, helping them find a seat if necessary, and providing whatever other guidance or help they may need.
In a growing church, parking space is a real premium. The Parking Ministry Team serves people by helping direct them to available parking. This team also increases the number of cars that are able to park in our available spaces by helping people park in an efficient manner.
In light of the demand for parking on Sunday mornings, this ministry is vitally important. This s a great ministry for individuals who enjoy serving others and being outside. |
