What is MOPS?
MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers, a group designed to support mothers with children under school age, conception to age six. MOPS groups provide a friendly and fun place for mothers to relax and connect with other mothers. We socialize, encourage each other, and learn from one another how to handle this challenging season in our lives.
A typical MOPS meeting can include:
- A time for greeting new mothers
- A topic relevant to raising a preschooler or a topic applicable to women
- An opportunity to chat about that month’s topic
- Refreshments and conversation
Why Should I Join?
If you’re a mother of a preschooler (meaning that you have at least one child age 6 or under), then we believe that MOPS at Riva Trace has something to offer you. Our group provides support, encouragement, activities and fun! We also strive to connect mothers and help them develop meaningful relationships in an understanding environment.

Her daughter is 2 and is always climbing. Their daily shenanigans normally include some type of outdoor adventure. Katie loves torturing her husband by bringing wild creatures like tadpoles and snails into the house for extended stays. She is also in a mission to massively declutter their home to become less of a hot mess human. Some of Katie’s favorite things are watching Netflix, sleeping and drinking iced coffee. Katie is also involved in the student ministry at Riva and sort of loves it. She is currently trying to revive her love for reading in the midst of the chaos.
