Every discipline in life leaves marks on those that pursue it with excellence. Weight lifters hands are rough and calloused. Ballerinas have swollen feet and twisted toes. Athletes proudly bear the bruises, bloody noses, broken bones, and black eyes of competition. Serious followers of Jesus carry marks as well.
